1. Introduction
Villz Company ("we," "us," or "our") operates the Villz platform, accessible via the Villz mobile application and the website located at www.thevillz.com (collectively, the "Platform"). Villz is an on-demand marketplace that connects customers seeking beauty and wellness services with independent service providers ("Artists").
This Privacy Policy explains what information we collect, how we use and retain it, and your rights regarding your data. By creating an account and using the Platform, you agree to the practices described in this policy.
A Villz account is required to access any part of the Platform, including browsing available Artists and services.
2. Information We Collect
2.1 Information You Provide
All Users (Customers and Artists):
- Full name
- Email address
- Profile information you choose to add
Customers:
- Service request details (service type, location, scheduling preferences)
Artists:
- Government-issued identity documents and tax information (collected and verified directly by Stripe, Inc. as required for payment processing — see Section 4)
- Service categories and license information
- Bank account information for payouts (collected and held by Stripe, Inc.)
2.2 Information Collected Automatically
- Device identifiers used to deliver push notifications (e.g., order requests, status updates) via Firebase Cloud Messaging
- Order and transaction records including service type, date, time, assigned Artist, and payment amounts
- App usage data such as session activity and feature interactions, used to improve the Platform
2.3 Payment Information
Villz does not store your credit or debit card numbers, CVV codes, or full payment card details on our servers. All payment processing is handled by Stripe, Inc., a PCI-DSS-compliant payment processor. When you complete a payment, Stripe may save your payment method to your Stripe Customer profile for use in future transactions on the Platform. By using the Platform, you acknowledge and consent to this practice. Stripe's privacy policy is available at https://stripe.com/privacy.
We do retain Stripe-issued identifiers (such as your Stripe Customer ID and Payment Intent IDs) in our database as references to your transaction history.
3. How We Use Your Information
We use the information we collect to:
- Create and manage your account
- Match customers with available Artists and process service requests
- Process payments and issue payouts to Artists
- Send push notifications about order status, requests, and platform activity
- Investigate complaints, disputes, safety incidents, and legal claims
- Comply with applicable laws, regulations, and legal process
- Improve and operate the Platform
- Communicate with you about your account or changes to our policies

Artist identity verification is performed by Stripe as part of their Know Your Customer (KYC) compliance requirements. Stripe collects and retains government-issued identification and related documents directly. Villz Company has access to Stripe-verified status indicators but does not hold copies of government ID documents.
5. Data Retention and Safety Policy
5.1 General Retention
We retain your personal information for as long as your account is active and for a period thereafter as necessary to comply with our legal obligations, resolve disputes, and enforce our agreements.
5.2 Account Deletion
You may request deletion of your account at any time by contacting us at privacy@thevillz.com. Upon receiving a verified deletion request:
- Your ability to log in will be disabled promptly
- Your publicly visible profile information will be removed from the Platform
- Your name, email address, and device identifiers will be deleted or de-identified within 30 days, subject to the exceptions described in Section 5.3
5.3 Retention of Transaction Records — Safety and Legal Obligation
Villz facilitates in-person physical services between customers and Artists, including massage therapy, skin care, hair services, nail services, and eyelash services. Because of this, we apply a mandatory retention policy to all transaction records regardless of account deletion requests.
Complete transaction records, including the full identities of both the Customer and Artist involved, the service type, date, time, location, and associated payment records, are retained for a minimum of 7 years from the date of the transaction. This retention is maintained for the following reasons:
- To comply with applicable financial recordkeeping requirements
- To support investigation of safety incidents, including but not limited to allegations of assault, harassment, or professional misconduct
- To cooperate with law enforcement, regulatory authorities, or legal proceedings
- To defend against disputes, chargebacks, and legal claims
This means that a request to delete your account does not result in the deletion of transaction-level records identifying you as a party to a completed service order. We believe this policy protects all users, including you.
Artist payouts and earnings records are retained for a minimum of 7 years for tax and financial compliance purposes and are not subject to deletion requests.
5.4 Safety Incidents
If a safety complaint is filed involving any account, whether or not the account holder has requested deletion, all records associated with that account and the relevant transactions will be preserved indefinitely pending resolution of the matter. We will cooperate fully with law enforcement investigations and will produce records in response to lawful legal process.
6. How We Share Your Information
We do not sell your personal information to third parties.
We share your information only in the following circumstances:
- Between Customers and Artists when a service request is matched, relevant information (such as name and service details) is shared between the parties to facilitate the service
- With Stripe to process payments and verify Artist identities
- With Firebase/Google to deliver push notifications to your device
- With law enforcement or courts in response to a subpoena, court order, or other lawful legal process, or when we believe disclosure is necessary to protect the safety of any person
- In connection with a business transfer if Villz Company is acquired, merges with another company, or transfers substantially all of its assets, your information may be transferred as part of that transaction. We will notify you via the Platform or email before your information becomes subject to a different privacy policy.
- With your consent for any other purpose with your explicit consent
7. Children's Privacy
The Platform is not directed to individuals under the age of 18. We do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone under 18. If you believe a minor has created an account on the Platform, please contact us at privacy@thevillz.com and we will promptly investigate and remove the account.
8. Data Security
We implement technical and organizational security measures designed to protect your information against unauthorized access, alteration, disclosure, or destruction. These include encrypted data transmission (HTTPS/TLS), secure token-based authentication, and access controls on our databases.
No method of transmission over the internet or electronic storage is 100% secure. While we strive to protect your information, we cannot guarantee absolute security.
9. Your Rights
Depending on where you live, you may have the following rights regarding your personal information:
- Access request a copy of the personal information we hold about you
- Correction request that we correct inaccurate or incomplete information
- Deletion request deletion of your personal information, subject to the retention obligations described in Section 5.3
- Portability request your data in a portable format where technically feasible
- Opt-out of marketing communications you may opt out of promotional emails at any time by clicking "unsubscribe" in any such email

California Residents: Under the California Consumer Privacy Act (CCPA), you have the right to know what personal information we collect and how it is used, the right to request deletion (subject to exceptions), and the right not to be discriminated against for exercising your rights. We do not sell personal information.
EEA/UK Residents: If you are located in the European Economic Area or United Kingdom, you may have additional rights under the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) or UK GDPR, including the right to lodge a complaint with your local supervisory authority. Our legal bases for processing include contract performance, legal obligation, and legitimate interests (including safety and fraud prevention).
10. Push Notifications
With your permission, we send push notifications to your device regarding order status, incoming service requests (for Artists), and other platform activity. You may disable push notifications at any time through your device settings. Disabling notifications may affect your ability to respond to time-sensitive order events.
11. Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we make material changes, we will notify you through the Platform or by email at least 14 days before the changes take effect. Your continued use of the Platform after the effective date constitutes your acceptance of the updated policy.
